Spring Break

We just got back from a fun spring break visiting Josey's parents in Montana. Jan convinced me to start a blog, so here goes. I'm still trying to get everything figured out, but I think it will be a fun thing once I get going.

It took us about 11 hours to get from Kemmerer to Lewistown. The boys were very good. Luckily, a friend had loaned us a DVD player for the car ride. I was not going to give in and buy one, but after this trip, I just might consider it. Jordan had been looking forward to visiting his grandparents for weeks, and he wasn't disappointed. He had so much fun all week. Every day he went "swimming" in grandpa and grandma's hot tub. He found plenty of fun stuff to play with and was in heaven.

Sunday was Easter, and Jordan was very excited to see what the Easter bunny had brought him. He especially loved his umbrella (which he managed to break in about 5 minutes) and his soft bunny (good pick grandma.) Jarrett mostly seemed interested in the eggs and the candy.

After church we had a nice Easter dinner with Russ & Wendy and their family, and later Jordan had an Easter egg hunt. He did a pretty good job finding the eggs and had a lot of fun.

On Tuesday, we went to the auction. Don and LaDeane came with Kevin, Amy, & Kellan (who is just 11 days younger than Jordan.) Jordan was a little shy at first, but finally warmed up to Kellan and they were inseperable for the rest of the day. They got a little noisy at the auction so we had to take them outside to let them play a little. Then we went out to Russ & Wendy's ranch, where they got to see lots of new baby calves. When it was time for everyone to leave, poor Jordan was so sad. He just wanted Kellan to stay with him!

On Wednesday, Josey and I took a little trip to Billings to go to the temple, and we left Jordan & Jarrett with grandpa, grandma, and Arielle. They had a lot of fun. Jordan loves playing with his aunt Arielle, and Jarrett is pretty much just a happy little boy whatever he's doing, especially if he's eating!

Thursday we took Jordan out to Russ & Wendy's ranch again. He got to help vaccinate some cows. Then we took him to his first ever movie in the theater: Horton Hears a Who. He did pretty well, considering he has a very short attention span. Thank goodness for popcorn and sprite. It was so fun to just relax and hang out with our boys all week.

Friday we started driving home. We decided to go to my parents' house for the night and then visit my grandma Clark (my mom's mom) today. She had a stroke on Easter morning, a serious one, and is not expected to make it much longer. She can't speak or move or eat, but she seems pretty aware of what's going on around her. It was sad to see her, but I'm glad I decided to go. After we visited with her for awhile, we drove home to Kemmerer. We are happy to be back home. Our snow is still here, but almost gone. Jordan has been begging me all night to ride his trike, so if it's nice tomorrow, I said I'd let him. We'll see.

Anyways, we had a great spring break. It was so fun to visit family and relax. Our boys were great and funny and cute (I'll block out the occasional whininess and temper tantrums). I love our family!
